Mia's Baptism and Jace's Triathalon

It's been a busy summer with several visits from family and a few trips, summer camps and activities. Only a few weeks left before school starts!

Mia was baptized at St. Mary of the Knobs on Father's day, June 16, 2013

Aunt Jenny is Mia's godmother and Uncle Jason is Mia's godfather

Jace's Kindergarten Graduation

Today Jace graduated from kindergarten with his cousin, Jacob.  They put on a little program where the kids sang songs and each of them read what they wrote about their favorite part of kindergarten.  It was very cute! Great job Jace and Jacob!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Hey Chris!  I'm putting your birthday message on my blog because it's easier to send all these pics to you this way. I hope you enjoyed your birthday!  Lisa said you've been pretty busy and working hard on the ship.  We just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and let you know that we're thinking about you :-) Stay safe out there and we can't wait til you come home!
Here's some recent pics we took of the family and Mia a few weeks ago.  Mia is almost 4 months old now. She's a big ham smiling and laughing all the time.

Catching Up!

Ok, so I've fallen off the blogging bandwagon.
I hail to my friend, Tracy Noble, queen of the bloggers :-)
I don't know how she does it, but Tracy's always on it with her blogging. :-)
So, time to play catch-up with the Johnsen's!

By the way, for those of you that have been dying to know,
baby Johnsen #3 will be here in about 6 weeks or less. January 23
is the official due date.  No official names picked yet, but Jace and
Lexi are still rooting for naming their baby sister, Oreo.  Ha!

Jace finished his soccer season towards the end of October.
I think by the end of the season we were down to only 3 players.
Tough season for Coach Matt!

Jacob, Jace & Lexi went Trick-0r-Treating with Grandma Patti,
Don and Grandpa Tom this year.  It was a cold night for sure!

Grandpa Tom was a crazy beaver, Jace was spiderman,
Jacob was Darth Vader & Lexi was the fierce dragon from Shrek

Spiderman is so ripped!

Grandpa Tom turned 60 on December 8, so we celebrated
with a yummy ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins!

Santa Jace & Santa Lexi posing by the Christmas tree

Decorating the tree was a lot of hard work

This is Lexi's expert tree decorating, hanging all the
ornaments in one spot. Anyone want to hire her?

Jace thought it was cool to try on the Santa tree skirt

Cheesin' with Santa

We went to Santa's Secret Workshop at Georgetown Elementary
one weekend and the kids had a blast. There were tons of stations
for kids to make ornaments, play games, things to eat, and a secret
workshop where parents weren't allowed!  Jace liked the snowball fight
station. This girl in the pink pants was chasing him around and pounding him :-)

Lexi's first time sitting on Santa's lap and not crying.
She was looking a little mischievous...

 more snowball fighting

Okay, til next time everyone!  Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year from the Johnsen Family!  Hope Santa is good to everyone!

October Fun

Some of these pics are out of order,
but I think you get the idea :-)

Lexi's had so much fun this month she passes out on the kitchen floor at night.

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch at Hubers.  Looks like it was a good year for pumpkins because there were a ton of big pumpkins to choose from.

After a long hunt, Jace and Lexi finally found their perfect pumpkins!

Passed out as soon as we got in the car from a long day of fun at Hubers...

Now onto the gutting, carving and decorating ceremony!  Preparing to do battle...
(it was Lexi and Jace's idea to take off their shirts) ha!

Ew! Lexi didn't like scooping out the pumpkin guts!
Lexi liked putting faces on the pumpkins instead
Jace enjoyed carving the face on his pumpkin

The finished spooky pumpkins. Can you tell which ones Lexi designed? Ha!
